Claims & Benefit Advocate

This person reports directly to the Claims & Benefit Advocate Team Lead, works closely with the Client Relationship Managers and Enrollment department. This person is responsible for maintaining a professional working relationship and provides group benefits support to the clients and their employees.

Responsibilities
  • Perform as a claim advocate for clients; working directly with employees, dependents, customers, provider offices and insurance carriers
  • Provide coverage and claims strategy advice to clients and internal team members
  • Analyze and interpret information to provide accurate conclusions for claims issues
  • Effectively communicating claims issue updates to the client and internal team members
  • Proficiently maintain agency management system data for accuracy
  • Accurately review members benefits to ensure claims have been process accurately
  • Ability to gather data from clients and carriers
  • Knowledge and understanding of Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and Worksite benefits
  • Build and maintain client and carrier loyalty by providing prompt, friendly service
  • Ability to obtain needed information for pending claims inquiries
  • Knowledge in and understanding of ERISA compliance, COBRA, and Health Care Reform
  • Establish and cultivate cooperative working relationships with clients and their employees
  • Perform other company tasks as assigned
  • Perform all task in accordance with company policies
Requirements

Client Relationship Manager

This person reports directly to the CRM Team Lead, works closely with the Enrollment, Plan Analyst, Compliance and Claims Departments. This person is responsible for maintaining a professional working relationship with the key contacts of the block of business assigned to this team member.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and assist clients with strategic planning, including renewals, establishing timelines
  • Coordinate work with assigned team to ensure all internal activities (communication, annual calendars, project plans, customer service, etc.) are properly serviced for clients
  • Communicate to the service team information about the client including buying styles, expectations, problems, concerns and other relevant knowledge to assure a consistent high level of service
  • Oversee timely and accurate deliverables within established company standards
  • Assist managing renewal timeline to ensure timely execution of client decisions and provided materials
  • Assist with complex situations (claims, enrollment, implementation issues, etc.)
  • Conduct open enrollment and new hire meetings, onsite or remote, including creation of PowerPoint presentation materials
  • Implementation or carrier/vendor changes for various policies
  • Updating of agency management system with policy changes or renewals, including all various aspects of information needed in the system
  • Verify accuracy of rates within one-month post OE
  • Ability to adapt to different clients’ needs and wants, in a professional manner
  • Knowledge in and understanding of ERISA compliance, FMLA, COBRA, 5500 filings and HealthCare Reform
  • Ability to handle high stress situations with clients and maintain focus on overall satisfaction
Requirements

  • 3-5 years of industry experience, working in Client Services or as an Account Manager
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Internal Client Support

This person reports directly to the Director of Operations and works closely with all departments across the company. This person will work collaboratively with their assigned team to provide superior customer service to all clients.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with implementation activities for new and existing clients including completion and processing of paperwork, follow up with carriers and clients, monitors progress, and communicates outcomes to Client Relationship Manager
  • Follows up on delinquent premium notices with clients
  • Updates Agency Management System within appropriate timeframe per company procedures (renewal of plans, adding new policies, updating information)
  • Creates PowerPoint presentations for stewardship and open enrollment meetings
  • Assists enrollment and plan analyst team members with client work pertaining to their respective departments
  • Assists Communications team with employee book and enrollment form creation
  • Supports Enrollment Systems Development team with required data for OE platform builds
  • Additional client-related tasks and special projects as assigned
Requirements

  • Support ACA reporting and filings

Primary Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience working with benefits enrollment technologies; experience with Employee Navigator preferred
  • Ability to think broadly and beyond the task at hand
  • Demonstrated strength in creating and following processes while multi-tasking
  • Able to successfully use Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office software
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
  • Track record of self-managing, working either independently or as part of a team

Plan Analyst

Responsibilities
  • Support prospective/current clients’ annual benefit renewals by gathering the information necessary to prepare a Request for Proposal (RFP) 
  • Thoroughly research various benefits options for clients based on their needs, submit RFPs to carriers, and field/answer questions
  • Analyze market quotes to ensure accurate features and benefits, premiums, and overall competitiveness
  • Utilize strong, cooperative working relationships to negotiate and optimize benefits and rates; ensure appropriate consideration of carrier bonus/persistency programs
  • Collaborate with client account teams to develop plan strategy and contribution modeling
  • Prepare formal presentations for renewals and prospects
  • Create quarterly claims reporting packages and prepare stewardship reporting as appropriate
  • Perform other tasks as needed
Primary Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience at an employee benefits broker working in a similar role
  • Track record of creating excellent relationships with clients and carriers
  • Able to successfully use Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office software
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy

Administrative Assistant

  • Support Michigan Planners sales team by asking questions and gathering necessary information for an effective prospective client meeting
  • Field incoming calls to our Washington office by answering caller questions, transferring to the appropriate team member, or taking messages
  • File prep and documentation
  • Monitor and document new business submissions including internal and external case follow up
  • Direct Medicare phone renewals during open enrollment
  • Utilize CRM software
  • Perform other tasks as needed
Primary Requirements
  • A positive and upbeat phone demeanor to successfully answer each inbound call and determine if you can assist the caller or route it to the appropriate person

  • Proven background using Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office software; experience with calendar management for more than two people is strongly preferred
