Client Advocate

A Client Advocate provides operational support and advocacy to ensure exceptional client experience. This role supports benefit administration functions including processing benefit and eligibility changes, preparing benefit guides, completing carrier agreements, and responding to client and employee inquiries. The Client Advocate works directly with employees, dependents, clients, carriers, and medical providers to assist with claims-related matters. This includes researching issues, facilitating communication, and advocating for timely resolution. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with team members to ensure client needs are met accurately and efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and work directly with employees, dependents, provider offices, and insurance carriers to advocate on the client's behalf.
  • Maintain and update CRM system.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Medical, Dental, Vison, Life, Disability and Worksite benefits, ERISA compliance, COBRA, 5500 filings, HIPAA and Health Care Reform.
  • Assist with client onboarding and ongoing renewals, including preparation of pre-renewal materials, stewardship reports, and Open Enrollment life cycle.
  • Provide guidance and education to members including plan usage, network providers, cost estimates, and benefit incentives.
  • Renew HSA, FSA, HRA, and related plans, including updating rates, maximums, and carrier documentation.
  • Review and check proposals, books, forms, and Employee Navigator (EN) builds for accuracy. Test Employee Navigator to ensure accuracy and functionality.
  • Primary Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. associate’s degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with CRM systems and/or Employee Navigator software preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
  • A positive, professional, and upbeat demeanor.
  • Handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
